Covid 19 Policies and Guidelines

COVID-19 Preventive Measures

To minimize the impact of COVID-19, it crucial to implement safety measures for this crisis period. Initially, countries imposed lockdown to halt the spread of the deadly virus. As the crisis unfolded, businesses and brick-and-mortar stores started to reopen. But it’s not possible to immediately return to where we were before the outbreak of coronavirus. The cases of COVID-19 are increasing at an alarming rate and Canadians are at a high risk of infecting virus, if safety measures are not followed. At Platinum Employment, we follow all guidelines of the Ontario government and screen all our workers regularly for symptoms. We take all the necessary precautions to ensure that our associates are healthy. All employees are required to wear personal protective equipment. And if we detect any symptom of virus infection, the worker is asked to stay home, until the quarantine period is over and the person fully recovers.
The outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic has brought many economic activities to a near-standstill. Even though most countries have officially “unlocked”, their economy is still in shackles. The spread of novel coronavirus has plunged the global economy and may leave long-lasting scars. To help businesses survive this crisis period, we at Platinum Employment are working tirelessly to find ways for rebuilding businesses with a robust recovery plan. We are offering services to ensure that our valued clients, as well as talented candidates, stay safe and get back to their feet. Given the evolving situation surrounding the COVID-19, we have adapted our business to ensure that employers and the entire workforce remain healthy.

Travel History Assessment

We also check the travel history of those who work for us. We assess anyone who has traveled to any pandemic affected country, take appropriate measures, and follow quarantine guidelines to limit virus spread. To encourage social distancing, our employees get all the required facilities to work remotely. Even if a family member of an employee has symptoms of COVID-19, he/she is advised to work from home. In addition to this, our offices are sanitized and equipped with hand sanitizers and masks to prevent virus spread. All employees are trained and have received COVID-19 guidelines to enforce hygiene protocols.

Pandemic Management

During this time of crisis, our goal is to keep our clients, candidates, and colleagues safe and healthy. To ensure the safety of everyone, we have formed regional response teams to keep up with the COVID-19 developments and formulate a pandemic management plan. At the time of inception of our business, we already had planned for crises like COVID-19. So, we already had a plan which is now updated to address the COVID-19 specific exposure risks, routes of transmission, and other unique characteristics. Our Pandemic Plan is designed to proactively deal with different stages of Coronavirus by implementing proper measures. We are working diligently to help businesses remain productive and candidates employed.

COVID-19 Rebound Strategy

The outbreak of pandemic has disrupted the work routines of Canadians and has led to widespread unemployment. Even after restrictions are eased, it has become hard for businesses to get back on the same track as they were in the pre-shutdown times. The COVID-19 pandemic has altered our work lives but now the government and businesses are focusing to rebound. At Platinum Employment, we are also committed to helping businesses create coronavirus rebound strategy. We are working closely with our clients to help them reopen their business and emerge stronger. Our teams are creating business-specific plans to identify risk levels in workplace settings, as well as appropriate control measures to implement. We are working together with employers and candidates toward the economic rebound for a stronger Canada. For safe post-pandemic business reopening, we have created a plan that aligns with the existing pandemic reality.

Here’s a quick look at some measures that businesses need to include in their rebound plan to emerge stronger than ever:

  • To reduce workers’ risk of exposure to the virus, employers need to first classify jobs as low, medium, high, and very high exposure risks.
  • Depending on the risk level, employers need to develop a COVID-19 Preparedness and Response Plan.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest information and guidance from the state government and health agencies.
  • Implement workplace-specific plans based on government recommendations.
  • Issue guidelines to maintain good hygiene and infection control practices in the office.
  • Employees, customers, and worksite visitors should be advised to thoroughly wash hands or use alcohol-based hand rubs containing at least 60% alcohol.
  • Set up physical distancing configurations and make mask compulsory.
  • Sick workers or anyone with even mild symptoms should be immediately asked to stay home and get tested.
  • To increase the physical distance among employees, allow flexible work hours, and spread out shifts.
  • Ensure regular housekeeping practices to disinfect all surfaces, equipment, and other elements
  • Create a customized rebound plan by assessing your risk level to implement measures tailored for your business needs.
  • Implement a health screening model for quick identification and isolation of potentially infectious individuals.
  • Encourage employees to self-monitor for signs and symptoms of COVID-19 if they suspect possible exposure.
  • Consider a transition to a virtual onboarding process
